The company received an Innovation Award from the National Marine Manufacturers Association for its GDI Engines, the 5500 and 6000 models, which were introduced last year. Key features of the GDI Engine series include Ilmor’s Thermal Command Center core cooling system and Engine Power Distribution Module, which eliminates the need for a traditional fuse box, according to the release. The engines boast a Five-Star California Air Resources Board rating.
The company also earned an NMMA Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index Award for its line of inboard engines, which it produces for MasterCraft towboats. The CSI awards program “recognizes marine manufacturers who achieve the highest levels of customer contentment, as reported by their customers within the first 12 months of boat ownership.”
“We are honored and humbled by the outstanding praise we received from our customers, and we are proud to be recognized by the NMMA and our industry peers,” said Paul Ray, the president of Ilmor, in the release. “Ilmor was founded as a customer service company, originally at the racetrack, and today on the water. We consistently strive to provide the absolute best product and experience for our customers, dealers and manufacturing partners throughout every stage of installation, service and ownership.”
