With its first round of testing complete, Hustler Powerboats announced today that its new 39 Rockit powered by twin Young Performance 1100 EFI motors and Mercury Racing No. 6 drives topped the 130-mph mark.

According to a press release, with Rolf Papke of Pro Technologies at the helm and Eddie Young of Young Performance gauging the engine conditions, the 39 Rockit, which was on display at the Miami International Boat Show in February, hit a top speed of 132 mph before running out of prop.

“It was the fastest and most stable V-bottom I have ever driven as it made a 2-foot chop look like a piece of glass,” Papke said in the release. “The boat was so tame and quiet that I did not need to run the boat with the trim tabs down at any point.”

Young added that it was “the most boring 132-mph boat ride that I ever had.”

“The boat did not do anything stupid– going straight through 2-foot chop in any direction,” Young continued. “You could put a cup of coffee on the dash.”

The weather conditions while testing was a reported 62 degrees with 10- to 20-mph wind gusts creating a 2-foot chop in the water. The speed was achieved with 17″ x 35” five-blade props from Hering Propellers at 6,000 rpm.

“This boat will achieve 140 mph with the proper props,” said Joe LoGiudice, Hustler’s owner. “We are looking forward to getting this boat dialed in.”

Designed to run 100-plus mph safely, Hustler’s 39 Rockit starts at $498,934 with twin Mercury Racing HP700SCi engines and NXT¹ drives.
