H20 Publisher Launches Auto Racing Magazine

If you’re a high-performance-boat lover, odds are you’re also into fast cars. That’s why I’m pumped about Ned Dawson’s upcoming first issue of P1 magazine, a glossy, full-color publication dedicated to covering all forms of track-based motor racing worldwide. That includes Formula 1, NASCAR, Indy Car, Aussie and Kiwi V-8 Supercars, GT3 Cup, Middle East Supercars, GP2, Formula 2 and 3—and more. The first issue is slated to be 100 pages.

Dawson currently publishes H20 Full Throttle magazine, which covers the world of powerboat racing, as well as recreational performance boating. Dawson says he is planning to publish four issues of H20 in 2010. As a contributor for H20, I am writing two features—including a comprehensive review of the go-fast hardware from Miami International Boat Show—and a column for the next issue.

If the photo and layout quality for P1 match the high level of the copy I’m currently editing for the new magazine—and given the photo quality and layout in H20 I have every reason to believe they will—the first issue will be a stunner. Like many of you, I’m looking forward to holding the finished product.
