Members of the Performance Boat Club of Canada are gearing up for their annual Georgian Bay $100 Fun to Parry Sound July 7-10. The event will raise money for the Georgian Bay Hospital Association “Boaters for Best Care” charity designated for the purchase of a new CT machine for the facility.

The festivities begin Friday evening with “cocktails and snacks” at the Boathouse Restaurant in Midland. A silent auction with all proceeds going to the charity also starts that evening. Registration at the Pavilion by the Midland town docks is set for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by the mandatory drivers meeting. Departure time for the run, with a single-file parade past the Midland and Pentetang town docks, is scheduled for 10 a.m.
After the noon lunch stop at Henry’s San Souci, the fleet with head for Parry Sound and tie up at Big Sound Marina, where slips have been reserved. The host Knight’s Inn hotel is a 10-minute walk from the docks, according to a press release from the club. A casual dinner is slated to begin at 7 p.m. the Brunswick restaurant at the hotel.
