Closing this Sunday, Sweden’s Stockholm International Boat Show had its own go-fast boat section in the form of an Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SL 44, a Cigarette Racing Team 39 Top and a Fountain Lightning on display. For Outerlimits at least, the showing of the 44-footer represents the first time one of its models have been officially displayed in Scandinavia.

Powered by Mercury Racing 1350 engines, the SL 44 dubbed Modern Betong, which translates to Modern Concrete in English, is owned by to Stockholm’s Carl-Fredrik Söderberg. Söderberg was asked by the show’s organizers to loan his boat for the display, and given that this is the offseason for Sweden’s vibrant poker-run scene he was delighted to help out.
“The interest in our boat was, as expected, quite big,” he said. “I think it’s due to that it is the most extreme and modern boat in these countries. Many visitors look at it as if they’re viewing a spaceship. Many say instantly that it is the coolest boat they have ever seen, which is true.
Featuring a trio of models from Cigarette, Fountain and Outerlimits, the performance-boat exhibit in this week’s Stockholm International Boat Show reportedly has been the most popular display in the event.
“There’s a very cool and fancy McLaren also on display,” he added, then laughed. “I think it goes well with the boat.”
