While the goal of a recently organized photo shoot on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks was to capture the first running images of the second Wright Performance Powerboats 360 catamaran to hit the water, the team at Performance Boat Center didn’t miss the chance to bring out the first 36-foot outboard-powered catamaran—its demo model that debuted in August at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout—as well as the company’s back-to-back Superboat-class world champion raceboat—a canopied 38-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran fresh off its victory in Key West, Fla.

What came from the camera of ace photographer Brad Glidewell was spectacular to say the least (see for yourself in the slideshow below). Getting a company’s first two models together for a photo is rare; throw a raceboat in the middle and that’s practically one of a kind. In this case it likely is a one-time-only shot as the second cat, the blue one that is powered by twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines just like the red one, is headed to its new owner in Cape Coral, Fla.

The funny part is that it won’t be the boat’s first trip to Florida. Thanks to the new owner’s cooperation, the sport cat, which was built in Melbourne, Fla., by High Tech Composites, the company behind Doug Wright Designs, and then shipped to Performance Boat Center for paint, interior and rigging, was finished in time to be transported to Key West to be on display—courtesy of its owner—at the Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run Village.

Based on the first two 360 sport cats, which have received rave reviews, it’s clear the team behind Wright Performance Powerboats has a winning product. And with several more boats on order, it’ll be interesting to see how the boats continue to evolve.
