Gallery of the Week: Teague Ready to Rig New DCB ‘TCM 31’ Cat

Earlier this week the team at DCB Performance Boats in El Cajon, Calif., put some of the finishing touches on its latest M31 Widebody catamaran before delivering it to a special customer a couple of hours to the north—Bob Teague of Valencia, Calif.-based Teague Custom Marine, which is going to complete the boat early next year.

Dubbed the TCM 31, the striking 31-foot cat includes DCB’s traditionally well-appointed interior with upholstery that perfectly complements the boat’s flawless gelcoat, which features silver pearl, metallic gunmetal fade, candy blue pearl fade to candy violet pearl, and Aventador blue pinstripes.

According to Teague, who has owned both a DCB F29 and a DCB F32 catamaran, the 31-footer is going to be powered by TCM’s latest 1,400-hp supercharged engines and a set of Mercury Racing No. 6 drives with lower units blueprinted by Wilson Custom Marine. Almost all of the rigging from the firewall to the transom is being handled by the talented crew at TCM while everything in the cockpit and behind the dash was taken care of by DCB’s expert riggers.

Teague said he also worked closely with some of his industry friends to outfit the catamaran. The boat’s privately labeled Teague-logo LED-equipped gauges, which are complemented by a Garmin GPS display between the driver and copilot dashes, were supplied by Livorsi Marine while the controls came from Latham Marine. For communication in the boat, Teague turned to Tiger Performance Products. And for the stereo, which according to DCB’s Deron Rettke is one of the best audio systems he’s ever tuned, DCB installed new Bluave Marine Audio coaxial speakers and subwoofers to go with the Fusion head unit.

Obviously Teague is excited to get the boat on the water, but he said there is no rush as long as it’s done in time for the mid-April Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
