Gallery of the Week: Silver Sunsation In Paradise

Metallic colors on powerboats play well against the natural blue-green hues that are pretty much everywhere in South Florida. As proof of that statement, we submit the following photo gallery of a new Sunsation 32 CCX center console sent to us by Mindi Doller of Doller Offshore Marine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Catching up with Doller today, we learned a couple of things. First, she told us that large—meaning 40 feet and longer—pre-owned V-bottoms in the $300,000-and-up range have been selling so well for her that she’s actively looking for more inventory for her Hollywood, Fla., full-service powerboat business.

Taken earlier this year, long before the sweltering summer heat descended on the Sunshine State, the images were captured by photographer John Potts. Photos courtesy/copyright Doller Offshore Marine.

“I’m down to my last two big boats,” she said. “The problem is that there just weren’t enough of them built during the downturn in the economy.”

Second, much to her surprise she still has the 32-foot Sunsation, which is powered by a pair of Mercury Marine Verado 350 outboard engines and has topped out at 72 mph, in stock and needs to sell it—the listed price is $219,000—before she can order another.

“I will offer a special deal only to customers in my Southeast and South Florida areas,” she said. “It’s a great, agile performer, yet safe for the family.”
