Yesterday’s practice session at the American Power Boat Association/Union Internationale Motonautique Englewood Beach Waterfest World Championships in Englewood Beach, Fla., were uneventful, which is exactly the way it should be. The last thing any team in town this weekend wants is unnecessary drama heading into what will be two days of racing for most classes.

But that didn’t stop speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden from snagging a few dramatic images. Not the least of those captures was a down-the-tunnel perspective of the Class 1 Defalco raceboat coming in his direction.
Captured head one, an offshore racing catamaran looks more than ferocious.
Its looks ready to eat.

For Defalco team owner/driver Mike Falco and throttleman Billy Moore, that will mean attempting consume owner/driver Billy Mauff and throttleman Jay Muller in WHM Motorsports, the other Class 1 outfit into town for this weekend’s races.
