In its first test session, this new DCB Performance Boats M35 catamaran reportedly reached 165 mph.

The folks at DCB have completed yet another spectacular M35 Widebody catamaran powered by Mercury Racing 1350 engines, and thanks to the El Cajon, Calif., company’s Jeff Johnston speedonthewater.com has more than a few images of the 35-footer to the share. According to Johnston, the new cat, which is headed to a client in Canada, ran 165 mph earlier today with its engines turning 6,500 rpm.

“Those 1350s accelerate like nothing else,” said Johnston. “With 41-inch pitch propellers, it will run 173 to 175 mph.”

For those who have questions on the latest M35 cat or any other model in the DCB lineup, Johnston and his fellow DCB teammate Tony Chiaramonte will be at next week’s Miami International Boat Show Feb. 16-20. And with a new model finished just before they head out, they’ll definitely be in a fine mood to chat.
