Since introducing their M28R Widebody catamaran a little more than sixth months ago at the annual Desert Storm Street Party in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., the team at DCB Performance Boats has sold six of the exquisite custom 28-footers powered twin Mercury Racing Verardo 400R outboard engines. Two days ago, the El Cajon, Calif.-based company’s Tony Chiaramonte and Jeff Johnston DCB M28R hull No. 5 to its owners and acquainted them with their new pride and joy.
DCB’s Chiaramonte and Johnson delivered the company’s fifth 28-footer powered by Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines to delighted owners earlier this week.
“They are first-time DCB owners and just super nice people,” said Johnston. “And their boat turned out beautifully. It’s gorgeous.”

During yesterday’s delivery, Chiaramonte and the owners ran the cat, which was set up with Mercury Max Five 15” x 31-1/2” propellers, to 110 mph on Lake Havasu. “We’re delighted with the consistent performance of the M28R,” said Johnston. “It’s been a homerun for DCB, and it’s been homerun for our customers.”
