After its recent Los Angeles Boat Show debut of Bananas XL, the latest DCB Performance Boats M44 catamaran powered by dual-calibration Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines and owned by Dave and Buffie Megugorac, we were ready to see the boat where it really belongs. That means on the water—and that’s exactly what happened yesterday when the El Cajon, Calif., custom boat company’s Tony Chiaramonte and Jeff Johnston delivered the 44-footer to the owner for a shakedown session on Lake Havasu in Arizona.

Shooting from a helicopter, photographer Tom Leigh of Tommy Gun Images captured the M44 tearing across the water. Later that day, he spent time shooting the 44-footer’s exquisite details. DCB’s Jeff Johnston sent us those images late yesterday afternoon. This is the first time they’ve been published.
Details, details—Bananas XL is some of DCB’s finest work to date.
Running or sitting still, Megugorac’s M44 catamaran is as captivating as any DCB ever created. We look forward to seeing it out there in person this season starting with the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu in late April.
