Continuing this year’s trend of sold-out events, the June 11-12 Four Horsemen Poker Run in Oshkosh, Wis., has filled all 50 participants slots. According to Gary Swanson, one of the organizers of the 12th annual event on Lake Winnebago, all 12 sponsor slots also have been taken at the docks in front of the Dockside Tavern—the event’s host venue—on the Fox River.
Registration closed earlier this week.

“The event has a really good following,” said Swanson, who in addition to his role as general manager at Sweetwater Performance Center and Marina—the event’s title sponsor—is the crew chief for the Supercat-class SV Racing team co-owned by his fellow Wisconsinite Vinnie Diorio. “But we were excited to see how fast it filled up.
“We have a pretty good mix of boats, too,” he added.
If current plans hold, Diorio will debut his new Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SC 37 catamaran powered by Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines at the event. The 37-footer will be one of several Outerlimits models in the fleet.
“I’ve done the Four Horsemen maybe 10 times,” said Diorio, who, having recently sold his Outerlimits SV 43, added that he’s confident his new boat will be ready in time for the event. “The 37 cat will be the smallest boat I’ve ever run in Four Horsemen, but it’s going to be perfect for up here.”
