Fort Myers Offshore Completes Season No. 13

With last weekend’s fun run to the Vinoy Renaissance Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Fla., Fort Myers Offshore celebrated its 13th season of good times and camaraderie on the water, as well as college scholarship fundraising for students in South Florida’s Lee County.

During the 2017/2018 season, the nonprofit organization raised almost $20,000 for the fund. To date, Fort Myers Offshore has raised more than $280,000 for deserving students.

Starting in October 2017, the club ran eight events this season. The FMO New Year’s Weekend Fun Run attracted 74 boats, the largest fleet yet for one of its events.

“We are very happy with the past season and we have had record turnouts at many of our events,” said Eric Belisle, the president of the club. “We are very grateful for the continued support we received from current members, as well as those new members who have joined us this year.

“We are also very excited about next season when we will be announcing some new venues,” he added.

According to FMO board member Meghan Brousseau, the club will announce its 2018/2019 schedule this summer.
