More than six months ago, Formula Boats announced that its new 430 All Sport Crossover—a 43-foot quad outboard-engine-powered model “designed with the offshore adventurer in mind”—would be released in the fall. True to its word, the Decatur, Ind., company is going to be showing off the new 430 ASC at next week’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Nov. 1-5).

Balancing “the best of all worlds,” according to Formula, the 43-footer is fully loaded and set up for everything from cruising, overnighting, entertaining, fishing and more. Formula’s exclusive designer, John Adams, focused on smart space allocation when he created the 430 ASC, which features 40 linear feet of cockpit space floor flowing on one continuous level from bow to stern.
Dubbed SmartZone, the concept optimizes the space by creating separate activity areas that satisfy virtually every boater’s preference. The coupe design with full-width motorized glass sunroof offers a flexible cockpit environment, while a perceptive blend of lounge seating and sporting gear modules allow for a variety of on-water adventures.
Add to that cabin accommodations that provide a completely residential experience through the smart utilization of space, including a fully appointed lower kitchen, dining lounge/berth, enclosed head and an aft stateroom bed, and the entire cabin experience is similar to that of Formula’s popular Super Sport lineup.
According to a press release from Formula, the side console helm includes Raymarine twin Axiom Pro 12S GPS with an upgrade to twin or triple gS165s, plus a more powerful transducer option for those serious fishing ventures.
Of course the 43-footer offers even more features, including a pressurized 52-gallon livewell that can accommodate four dive tanks and a portside fishbox with available refrigerator/freezer coils to preserve your catch. An aft-facing doublewide seat flips down at the transom for your choice of adventure, and 14 rod holders are located at the livewell, intake vents and swim platform sport station while electric outriggers are available for the hardtop.
Formula representatives expressed their excitement about showing off the 430 ASC—the first of which is powered by quad Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines—and surely they won’t be the only ones clamoring to get a closer look at the unique boat in Fort Lauderdale.
