With six models in the water and another seven boats filling the floor of the Miami Beach Convention Center, Formula Boats is expected to have a big presence again at the Miami International Boat Show in a few weeks.
Currently in the final stages of production, Formula’s latest 382 FAS3Tech model is being powered by twin Ilmor Marine 725 engines and Indy drives.
Along with showcasing its next-generation interior layouts on a handful of its new Bowrider, Sun Sport, Super Sport and FX models indoors, the Decatur, Ind., company is partnering with three different engine builders for in-water displays where potential customers can demo the models.
A 34 Performance Cruiser, a 40 Performance Cruiser and a 45 Yacht will be on display in Formula’s in-water spaces at the Sea Isle Marina docks and there also will be a 350 Crossover Bowrider in the Volvo Penta-powered section. In the Mercury Racing section, Formula’s latest 400 FX8 model will feature a pair of Mercury’s new 520 engines.
And last but not least for you performance boaters out there, Formula is featuring a pair of Ilmor Marine 725 engines in a 382 FAS3Tech with the flashy Platinum Imron Missile graphics.
“We’re changing up the overall approach to the interior of our boats by making the designs a little more flexible,” said Scott Smith, Formula’s marketing manager. “The boat show season has been going pretty well so far so we’re expecting good things in Miami.”
