With six models in the water and another seven boats filling the floor of the Miami Beach Convention Center, Formula Boats is expected to have a big presence again at the Miami International Boat Show in a few weeks.
Along with showcasing its next-generation interior layouts on a handful of its new Bowrider, Sun Sport, Super Sport and FX models indoors, the Decatur, Ind., company is partnering with three different engine builders for in-water displays where potential customers can demo the models.
A 34 Performance Cruiser, a 40 Performance Cruiser and a 45 Yacht will be on display in Formula’s in-water spaces at the Sea Isle Marina docks and there also will be a 350 Crossover Bowrider in the Volvo Penta-powered section. In the Mercury Racing section, Formula’s latest 400 FX8 model will feature a pair of Mercury’s new 520 engines.
And last but not least for you performance boaters out there, Formula is featuring a pair of Ilmor Marine 725 engines in a 382 FAS3Tech with the flashy Platinum Imron Missile graphics.
“We’re changing up the overall approach to the interior of our boats by making the designs a little more flexible,” said Scott Smith, Formula’s marketing manager. “The boat show season has been going pretty well so far so we’re expecting good things in Miami.”
