At present, a new DCB Performance Boats M29 catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines is being hauled by Outlaw Transport to Florida’s Port of Jacksonville. On Friday, the 29-footer, which was built with a Vacuum Infused Resin (VIR) process and balsa-cored with additional carbon-fiber reinforcement, will be loaded on a cargo ship bound for the Middle Eastern emirate country of Abu Dhabi.
Bound for Abu Dhabi this Friday, this M29 will be DCB’s first boat in the Middle East (click image to enlarge).
Though the M29 will be the first DCB offering shipped to the Middle East, the $350,000-plus boat has all of the features delivered to buyers in the United States including a complete Alcantara interior and a custom-matching carpet kit with shaved diamonds in the fabric. Additional goodies include a pair of Simrad NSS9 Evo3 touchscreen monitors and a Garmin 7608 GPS center plotter.
For capturing and viewing the action, the catamaran is equipped with two Garmin VIRB cameras—front and rear-facing—on custom billet brackets mounted to a windshield support strut and Simrad Go5’s Garmin GMi20’s in back of headrests
For illumination after dark, DCB decked out the cat with its Interior Rigid LED lighting package (mood lighting, courtesy lighting, LED cupholders) well as its Exterior Rigid LED lighting package (LED’s under bustle/ swimstep, and front sponson/ tunnel area of boat). The builder also installed one 10-inch LED Shadow Caster underwater light.

A custom MYCO trailer was built for the M29 and is being shipped to Abu Dhabi with it.
“The speed as tested was 108 mph with Max 5 props,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of DCB. “The estimated top speed with Mercury Racing CNC cleaver props, though, is 115-plus mph.”
