In a letter sent on Thursday from Eliminator Boats president Jake Fraleigh to the company’s customers and family members, Fraleigh announced that the Mira Loma, Calif., company’s annual regatta was being cancelled for 2020. The event had already been moved from May to mid-September in response to the COVID-19 pandemic; and for that same reason, Eliminator has called off the 2020 event altogether.

“While we truly live for these events, the wellbeing of our Eliminator family must be our primary concern,” the letter explained. “As such, we postponed our annual regatta from May 15-16 to September 11-12. We just knew by mid-September everything would be back to normal.
“Today, we see the normal we had hoped for, slipping into the future,” it continued. “Spikes in COVID cases have hit several states, including Arizona and California, and we cannot put our customers/family at risk. Unfortunately, in the interest of our customers’ health, we are cancelling our 2020 regatta. We have labored with this decision for weeks, but we know we have made the right decision.”
Anyone who reserved a spot in this year’s regatta automatically will be signed up for the 2021 event. Additionally, Eliminator plans to notify those participants in January with the new date details and no additional costs will be charged unless additional attendees are added.
“At Eliminator Boats, customers are why we exist, they are family and our “family” is considered in every decision we make,” Fraleigh wrote in the letter. “We love seeing our Eliminator family at these events, sharing stories, relaxing with great food and drink, and enjoying the lifestyle our boats are known for; it just does not get any better. We thank everyone for understanding this difficult decision.”
Fraleigh said to contact Eliminator’s Hannah Logan for any questions regarding the regatta.
