Featuring a fresh graphics design handled by the talented team at Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro, Ky., the latest Deep Impact Custom Boats 399 Sport luxury performance center console is being cleaned up following a recent photo shoot near the Deep Impact facility in Opa-locka, Fla., and covered for delivery to its owner in Michigan this week.

According to Terry Sobo, Deep Impact’s sales and marketing director, the new 39-footer is “pretty much fully loaded.” Along with the custom paint job, which was requested by the owner, and the quad Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines, the center console has a substantial sound system, sizable helm displays, all of the bells and whistles in terms of electronics and high-end LED lighting inside and out.
Boasting Deep Impact’s refined gunwale-to-gunwale patented fiberglass hardtop that it introduced almost two years ago, the boat also features several interior updates, including a new quilt-pattern design in both the upholstery and the Marine Mat flooring.
Sobo, who said the 399 runs faster than 80 mph with the quad 400-hp outboards and will get there in a hurry, is especially proud of the boat and believes the owner is going to be very appreciative of it once the lake he lives on finally thaw out.
“Things are going well with both brands—Blackwater Boats and Deep Impact,” Sobo said. “We have a nice backlog of orders for both companies and we’ve been working hard on new design ideas that continue to set us apart.”
Although Stephen Miles, the owner of SMD, designed the graphics for another 39-foot Deep Impact—a 399 Cabin—that made its debut last fall (read about it here), this was the first Deep Impact model he got to design and paint, and he’s grateful for the opportunity and is looking forward to doing another one, which is likely to happen later this year.
