Two years ago, Mark and Eileen Fischer volunteered to host two journalists (myself and speedonthewater.com’s Matt Trulio) for the annual Key West Poker Run organized by the Florida Powerboat Club (FPC). As the outgoing couple behind the Florida-based automotive business OffleaseOnly.com made its way from Miami to Key West in its 36-footer Deep Impact Boats center console from Key Largo dealer BoatsDirectUSA.com—one of Fischer’s other companies—it was clear to me that Mark and Eileen were as passionate as performance boaters get.

I met them at the Emerald Coast Poker Run in Destin, Fla., a couple of years before that, but never spent any time talking with or getting to know them. But thanks to an assignment for FPC’s Powerboating in Paradise magazine, I was able to get a glimpse into the Fischers’ world. (You can read the feature here.)
