Participants in the 26th annual DCB Performance Boats Regatta Sept. 23-25 on Lake Havasu in Arizona won’t lack for pictures of their boats in action, thanks to not one but two helicopters—each with its own photographer—covering the event. Thanks in large part to major event sponsor Wozencraft Insurance, the event will enjoy aerial coverage from an Airbus EC130 helicopter, which with its 170-mph top speed should have no trouble keeping up with most DCB cats, as well as a Bell 206 helicopter.
Ace high-performance powerboat photographers Todd Taylor and Tom Leigh will join veteran pilots Fred Young of Las Vegas-based Maverick Helicopters in the EC130 and Brandon Allan of San Diego-based Western Foundations in the 206. Plans include high-speed running shots on Thursday and Friday, along with individualized customer event photos on Saturday, which includes a run to the Pirates Cove resort and restaurant, according to insurance man Devin Wozencraft.
“Wozencraft Insurance is honored to be able to help bring an additional level of support to an outstanding event,” said Wozencraft. “When I heard DCB was utilizing two helicopters, I jumped at the opportunity to come on board.
The Airbus EC130 is one of two photo ships that fly for the DCB Regatta.
“In addition, Wozencraft Insurance representatives will be on hand during the event to address any insurance questions or provide assistance,” he added.
As in years past, the Nautical Inn Beach Front Resort will be the host venue for the event. Registration is still open. A PDF of the registration form can be accessed by clicking here.
