With Thursday’s mile-long Desert Storm Poker Run Street Party looming this week, the crew at DCB Performance Boats in El Cajon, Calif., spent last weekend putting the finishing touches on a couple of new builds that will be part of brand’s heavy presence during the event. Among those new beauties is a blue M31 catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 700 SCi engines. According to DCB’s Jeff Johnston, the boat was inspired by a blue Lamborghini Aventador sportscar.

This new M31 is one of 11 DCB Performance Boats catamarans that will be on display during the Desert Storm Poker Run Street Party.

“We came pretty close to matching the color, especially considering that we did it in gelcoat and not paint” said Johnston.

The 31-footer will be one of 11 DCB offerings on display at Thursday’s street party, which stretches up McCulloch Boulevard in Lake Havasu City. The boat will be delivered to its Canada-based owner during the event.

“It’s going to stay in Havasu for a few weeks before it goes back to Canada,” said Johnston. “Then it will go home with the customer. He boats on the Shuswaps.

“He doesn’t own a Lamborghini,” he added. “He just liked the color.”

Said Johnston, “We came pretty close to matching the color, especially considering that we did it in gelcoat and not paint.”
