When Nebraska farmer Brett Adams purchased an Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SL 36 with twin Mercury Racing 520 engines a few years ago from Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach, Mo., he knew one thing—he wanted a bigger, faster boat than the Cobalt Boats family runabout he owned and used several times a year on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks. Other than that, coupled with some experience in a friend’s Outerlimits, he wasn’t quite sure what else to expect.

So for the last couple of years, Adams, his wife, Terri, and their two boys, Cutler and Kizen, have enjoyed both boats and became even more entrenched in the performance boat lifestyle thanks to the dealership and service center that has been turning heads since opening its new state-of-the-art facility on the popular Midwest lake in the summer of 2014.
While Adams admits that owning two boats had its advantages and disadvantages, he wasn’t looking to replace either boat right away because each one served a different purpose. Well, at least until the PBC team took him and his wife for a ride in its latest stock model—a Cigarette Racing Team 42X with twin turbocharged Mercury Racing 1100 engines—at the 2015 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in late August.
