Custom Marine Group (CMG), a new partnership recently formed by the Ross and Wortley families to provide the highest-quality boating and marina solutions to its consumers, recently announced its acquisition of Baja Marine LLC.
According to a press release, CMG will leverage the decades-long legacy of brand leadership built among the partners to accelerate superior product development, enduring customer service and consumer-driven geographic expansion in its reintroduction of several of the boat industry’s most iconic brands, including Baja Marine, Donzi Marine, Fountain Powerboats and Pro-Line.
Custom Marine Group announced its acquisition of the Baja, Donzi, Fountain and Pro-Line brands that are built in Washington, N.C.
CMG plans to deliver on the company’s ongoing commitment to the boating consumer by operating through a first-class dealer network that will distribute, maintain and service all four brands.
Carol Price, a 29-year veteran of Fountain Powerboats, couldn’t be more excited about the new partnership.
“I’m proud to enter into a successful journey with Custom Marine Group and excited for great things to come,” said Price, CMG’s president. “Our possibilities are truly endless. This is just what our employees, local community, vendors and current and future dealer partnerships need.”
The purchase includes the assets of the four well-known boat industry brands along with the original Fountain factory in Washington, N.C. Manufacturing for all four brands will continue to be based in Washington, leveraging all current employees and expanded personnel to advance and optimize production.
“This is the re-birth of four of the world’s best boat brands,” Price added.
