CTS To Debut Tilt Trailer At Desert Storm Poker Run

The first tilt trailer from CTS Custom Trailers, which recently added marine industry trailer-business veterans Ronnie Moran and Jon Smiley to its team, will debut at the 25th annual Desert Storm Poker Run, April 19-22, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. The new product from the Muscatine, Iowa, company will carry an MTI 390X catamaran owned by Arizona’s Mark Rios, and the boat-and-trailer combo will be on display at Thursday’s Desert Storm Street Party in advance of Friday’s poker run.

CTS Custom Trailers has entered the tilt trailer market for high-performance powerboats.

“We knew there was a stronger demand for tilt trailers than any of the established players could produce,” said Smiley, the company’s vice president of sales, in a press release. “With more than 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space, we have the room to build approximately 15 tilt trailers in the next year.”

According to the release, all CTS tilt trailers with be constructed with 12-inch structural steel channel frames, Torflex axles, electric/hydraulic braking systems with stainless-steel brake lines and DeeMaxx brakes, double-gusseted corners, ramp wedges, marine-grade LED lighting systems, front boarding ladders and more.

CTS currently is building its second tilt trailer to transport the well-known 42-foot FASS Fuel Systems catamaran kept at Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach, Mo.

“Furthermore, our tilts will be highly customizable,” Smiley said. “We won’t be restricting our clients to limited options on their premium trailers.”

As it does with all of its trailers, CTS Custom Trailers will build its tilt offering to exacting standards.

Representatives from CTS Custom Trailers will be on hand throughout Desert Storm, starting with the street party. The company also plans to showcase its products at “major boating events” throughout the summer, including the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in late August.

Added Smiley, “Tilt-trailer clients are an elite group. We will work alongside them to maximize their custom options while still delivering a safe and Department of Transportation-approved trailer.”
