Countdown To Miami 2022: DCB Doubling Up

The last time DCB Performance Boats exhibited at the Miami International Boat Show was in 2014, two years before the event departed its former digs at the Miami Beach Convention Center and headed to its now-former Miami Marine Stadium venue on Virginia Key. But with two new builds to showcase, the El Cajon, Calif.-based custom high-performance boat company is heading back to the South Florida event this year, which is scheduled for February 16-20 and returning to its renovated Miami Beach Convention Center home.

Under construction and “still on track” for its Miami debut, according to DCB president Jeff Johnston, is an M37R—hull No. 9—going to first-time DCB owners Greg Harris and Yvonne Aleman of South Florida. The 37-footer is powered by Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines and will be on display at Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Center.

Though it won’t make it to the Miami event, a recently completed, open-bow M44 Widebody catamaran will be in town the following week for the Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run. Powered by dual-calibration Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines and owned by repeat DCB clients Mauricio and Angie Vivanco of Southern California, the cat is the fourth 44-footer built by the company to date.

Like the DCB M44, the M37R is slated to participate in the Miami Boat Show Poker Run. The February 24-27 event will include a boat exhibit of its own—as it did in 2021 to fill the void created by the cancellation of the Miami International  Boat Show—at Gilbert’s Resort and Tiki Bar in Key Largo.

“Both boats will be entered in the run, but they won’t be on display all weekend at Gilbert’s,” Johnston said.
