Countdown to Miami: Sunsation to Unveil 34-foot Center Console

Absent from the Miami International Boat Show in 2012, Sunsation Performance Boats will debut its much anticipated 34-foot center console at the 2013 event next month. Powered by a pair of 300-hp Mercury Verado outboard engines, the boat will be in the water and available for demo rides at Sea Isle Marina.

“Mercury suggested we have it in the water when they delivered the 300 Verados,” said Wayne Schaldenbrand of the Algonac, Mich., boat company. “They said, ‘Hey, it sure would be cool to see this boat tooling around in the water in Miami,’ and we agreed.

“It’s going to be like the debut of the F-4—off the hook,” he added and laughed.

Schaldenbrand and the crew at Sunsation were finalizing the gauge placement and overall dash layout for the first 34-footer this morning. The deck for the second 34 is complete, the hull is in lamination and Sunsation reportedly has “a line of orders” for the new model.

Schaldenbrand said he has not determined which other Sunsation models, if any, also will be displayed at the show.
