Countdown to Miami: MTI to Debut New 38 Cat

mti_sv42_lead

At last year’s Miami International Boat Show, MTI’s SV42 center console was just a model. This year, the first production 42-footer will be on display along with two other new models.

If you follow the happenings with Marine Technology Inc. (MTI) in any capacity you know that the Wentzville, Mo., company has a new 42-foot center console that will be making its official debut at the Miami International Boat Show next month. But that’s not all MTI will have to show off at this year’s show.

Along with displaying the first production SV42 (the prototype model will be in the water for demo rides), MTI owner Randy Scism said the company will showcase its new 38-foot catamaran inside the Miami Beach Convention Center. The boat, which fits nicely in MTI’s cat lineup, will feature a pair of turbocharged Mercury Racing 1100 engines and seating for six in the spacious cockpit.

“I’m stoked about everything we’re bringing to Miami,” Scism said. “I can’t wait to get there—it’s so much fun to see all of our customers and friends in the business. Miami is always our biggest show of the year. It won’t be any different this year as we have a big surprise in store. I’m not at liberty to discuss it quite yet—you’ll have to come to the show to see it for yourself.”

You can be sure speedonthewater.com will have a full story and pictures from the MTI booth the day the show opens.
