Countdown to Lauderdale: Something Fishy From Sunsation

sunsation 34 miami1Since introducing its first 34 CCX center console at the Miami International Boat Show, Sunsation has built seven 34-footers, including a fishing-focused edition that will be on display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in a month.

Move in day for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is less than a month away and the gang at Sunsation Boats—like most manufacturers—is working hard to get ready for the show. The 54th annual event, which runs from Nov. 1-4 with a preview day on Thursday, Oct. 31, features the Hi-Performance docks at Bahia Mar Yachting Center and Sunsation will have its latest 34 CCX center console—No. 007—on display at dock space No. 11.

Powered by twin Mercury Verado 300 engines, the new 34-foot center console will be fishing focused according to brothers Wayne and Joe Schaldenbrand, who own the company with former Sunsation customer Jared Morris. Along with the expansive cabin and impressive T-top that earned the center console rave reviews after its debut in February at the Miami International Boat Show, the new 34 CCX is loaded with live wells, rocket-launcher-style rod holders and other fishing ammenities.

The boat also is equipped with Mercury’s Joystick piloting controls utilizing the company’s latest Digital Throttle & Shift and SmartCraft technology. After the show, the 34-footer is headed to Sunsation dealer Captain’s Choice Boats in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Wayne Schaldenbrand said Sunsation also will have its 34 CCX demo model available for demo rides through Doller Offshore Marine in Hollywood, Fla., during the boat show. Powered by triple Mercury Verado 300 engines, the boat tops out around 75 mph. The twin-engine fishing-focused model is expected to run around 60 mph.
