Unveiled moments ago at the Cigarette Racing Team exhibit at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show, a 38’ Top Gun marketed as the “Top Gun 90 MPH” is the first boat to be powered by Mercury Racing’s new 565 engines. The 38-footer, which is displayed on a Myco hydraulic tilt trailer, comes standard with

a red-and-white color scheme.

Cockpit accents include billet hardware and carbon fiber trim. The boat’s simple “Cover Girl” cabin includes a cooler, a partial berth and lounge seating.

In another first, one of the two new 42 Huntress performance center console models in the Cigarette booth boasts five 350-hp Mercury Verado outboards—the first five-engine outboard installation approved by Mercury Racing. (The other 42-footer is equipped with four 300-hp Verado outboads.) The five-engine offering is a one-off, as it required several specifications.

“Why are there five motors?” said Skip Braver, the owner and chief executive officer of Cigarette Racing Team, in a press release from the company. “Because we couldn’t fit six.”
