Statement’s Marine’s 35- and 38-foot “SUV” Series center consoles reportedly have the St. Petersburg, Fla., custom high-performance powerboat builder “swamped.” That’s the word from Nick Buis, one of the founders of the company.
Center consoles such as the SUV 380 shown here continue to drive Statement Marine’s sales.Â
“We are currently producing two center consoles a month,” said Buis. “Both the 35 and the 38 are selling well.”
Dressed in silver painted graphics, a recently completed Statement 380 SUV center console will be on display at Performance Boat Center in Camdenton, Mo., during the upcoming Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. Guests at the dealership’s Thursday night open house party will get to see the 38-footer, which is powered by triple 300-hp Mercury Verado outboard engines, firsthand.
Although center consoles are dominating Statement’s production, Buis said the company does still have orders for pure performance boats. Among the current projects is a 50-foot turbine-powered catamaran headed for a client in Australia. The cat should be complete by December, said Buis.
“Our first cat had the 1,450-hp turbine engines from Turbine Marine,” said Buis. “This one is going to have the big ones, the 1,850-hp L703 turbines.”
