On Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 Captain’s Choice Boats in Destin, Fla., will host an open house showcasing the Sunsation 29-, 32- and 34-foot CCX performance center consoles. Owned by Mitch and Heidi Kaplan, Captain’s Choice Boats has been a Sunsation dealer for the past 15 years and has sold more than $10 million worth of the company’s sportboats and center consoles.
“They have been our No. 1 dealer in sales by far,” said Joe Schaldenbrand, who co-owns the Algonac, Mich., boat company with his brother, Wayne, and Jared Morris. “Mitch and Heidi have done a great job for us.”
Demo rides on Sunsation’s CCX center consoles including its 32-footer (above) will be available Friday and Saturday.
Captain’s Choice also will be celebrating the one-year anniversary of moving into its current facility—the dealership formerly was located in Fort Walton Beach. All three CCX models will be available for demo rides during the two-day event, which is open to the public and will include a catered lunch. Joe and Wayne Schaldenbrand will join the Captain’s Choice Boats crew for the open house, and representatives from Mercury Racing also will be there with the company’s promotional trailer.
“We’re looking forward to seeing our existing Sunsation customers, and we hope to make some new ones,” said Joe Schaldenbrand. “Being in a marina, the location Captain’s Choice moved into a year ago is perfect for demo rides. Rather than going to a boat show and hoping customers come to us, we’re going to where we know are customers will be and going there to meet them.”
