BoatUS, which as the nation’s largest organization of recreational boat owners boasts more more than 500,000 members, has released a couple of fire-safety videos in advance of the 2017 boating season. The news was announced in a press release from BoatUS, which is based in Alexandria, Va.
Called “Four Fire Extinguisher Myths,” the first video takes a lighthearted approach to dispelling four silly and commonly held misconceptions, such as “Tapping Or Striking The Extinguisher Keeps Its Contents Fresh” about onboard first extinguishers. Titled “Boat Fire Safety: Burning Boats Video,” the second video is a precursor to what will be longer piece to be released in April 2017. This teaser video, which runs just one minute long, captures how quickly and ferociously a fiberglass powerboat can be consumed by fire. Click here to watch the video.
