To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Boat Owners Association of the United States (BoatUS), the nation’s largest recreational boat owner advocacy, services and safety organization announced the fourth in a series of local celebrations to say thanks to the more than half a million BoatUS members.
Local BoatUS members will gather July 28 at River Roast Social House to celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary.
BoatUS announced that next week’s “50th Anniversary Member Appreciation Event” is going to be held Thursday, July 28 at Chicago’s River Roast Social House (315 N. LaSalle Street). Members and friends of the association are invited to stop by anytime between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
BoatUS President Margaret Bonds Podlich is set to host the informal celebration with hors d’oeuvres and prizes—including a Star Clippers cruise for two.
“It’s a way to gather and thank our BoatUS members for their continued support over the years, and to get with other boaters to talk boating,” Podlich said in the announcement. Local TowBoatUS Captains will also attend.
