Battiato Returns to Big Thunder Marine at Glencove Marina

With some recent additions, the Big Thunder Marine group in Lake Ozark, Mo., is beefing up its performance boat service side of the business. Along with acquiring a wealth of tools, parts and equipment from Shogren Performance Marine, Big Thunder Marine has brought back one of the most knowledgeable technicians around the lake—Tony Battiato—to the popular Glencove Marina, which Big Thunder acquired earlier this year.

High-Performance Service Technician Tony Battiato is excited to be back at the revitalized Big Thunder Marine at Glencove Marina.

Battiato, who worked his way up from the gas dock to the service and set-up bays at Glencove Marina and went to work for Performance Boat Center two years ago, is excited to get back to work at the facility he started at in 1999.

“This is a great opportunity for me,” said Battiato, who grew up on the lake after his family relocated from Omaha, Neb. “My goal is to keep our customers happy and on the water. Communication with a customer is the key. I know it’s not easy to make everyone happy but we will do our best.”

The owner of a 2007 Eliminator Boats 33 Daytona with twin Ilmor Marine 625 engines, Battiato said he was looking forward to sharing knowledge and ideas with the Big Thunder Marine team that has revitalized Big Thunder Marina and purchased Lake Ozarks Marine and Tritoon Town in the past year.

“We’re excited to have Tony on board with us—his reputation is as good as it gets,” said Jeremy Anderson, general manager of Big Thunder Marine. “We have several Mercury-certified techs here, but Tony has a bona fide performance background that is a welcome addition to the team.”

According to Anderson, Big Thunder Marine also purchased all of Shogren Performance Marine’s tools, equipment and parts—new and used—that will allow Battiato and the team a chance to work on a variety of performance boats.

“All of the equipment helps jumpstart our performance shop,” Anderson said. “It would have taken us a long time to acquire this much stuff. Now we have the tools and the equipment we need to work on anything and everything. Between our fiberglass, upholstery and service teams, we’re creating a one-stop shop.”
