For the Super Stock-class rookie pairing of Myrick Coil and Rusty Williams of the Performance Boat Center team, the 2019 American Power Boat Association Offshore Championship Series couldn’t have gone better. Coil and Williams ran their 32-foot Wright Performance catamaran to top honors in their class, and from there went on to take second place overall in the three-race Race World Offshore Key West Championships.

Those results were not lost on the decision-makers at AutoAlert, the team’s primary sponsor. And during their holiday Christmas celebration last month, they announced that AutoAlert will back the team again this year. Brett Manire, the co-owner of the full-service, multi-brand powerboat dealership based in Osage Beach, Mo., attended the almost-800-guest event with his PBC partner Mark Waddington, Coil, Williams, rigger Andy Sanders and their significant others.
“They had Rusty and Myrick speak during their awards ceremony,” said Manire. “And they showed a really cool video from the APBA series.
“AutoAlert is an excellent sponsor,” he continued. “They had four or five employees at every event handing out sunglasses and key chains. Their CEO and other partners flew into every race and celebrated the team at their holiday party.”
Manire said that the Super Stock team will be Performance Boat Center’s sole offshore racing effort this season. They are stepping back from the Supercat class until 2021.
The Performance Boat Center crew was honored during AutoAlert’s annual holiday party last month.
“We will not have a Supercat this year,” he said. “We will focus on our Super Stock-class team this season.”
