The New Jersey Powerboat Club’s signature event, the Atlantic City Powerboat Rally June 15-17 opened registration today. The cost for the event, which is limited to 50 powerboats of all kinds and runs from Toms River to the Golden Nugget Resorts and Casino in the famed Garden State gaming city, is $499 per boat. Extra passengers are $125 per person.
Powerboats of all shapes and sizes are welcome in the Atlantic City Powerboat Rally.
Heading into its 21st year, the run is dedicated to Anthony Sauta, a beloved member of the New Jersey powerboating community who died last year. Sauta was 59 years old.
“He was one of the hardest-working, 100-percent self-made people I have ever had the pleasure to meet,” said Dave Patnaude, the president of the NJPBC, in a press release for the event. “His success was equally matched by his incredible generosity to all around him including family, friends and all of his employees, whom he cherished.”
According to the release, speed-and-course-limited powerboat groupings/classes for the event include:
•Easy Inside Cruise—35 mph (no ocean running).
•Inside Cruise—55 mph (no ocean running).
•Fast Running Inside—75-plus mph (no ocean running).
•Ocean Running—Barnegat Bay Inlet to Atlantic City Inlet.
