As the Florida Powerboat Club has proved for many years, the show must go on—as in the Miami International Boat Show. And while the new venue marked a significant change to the world’s most famous boat show this year, the poker run following the event proved as steadfast as ever after the first of two days featuring dozens of performance boats blasting from Miami to Islamorada, Fla.

By day’s end Thursday, both Pete Boden and Yvonne Aleman submitted several of their favorite images from the 2016 Miami Boat Show Poker Run, which wraps up on Sunday (Feb. 21), for inclusion on speedonthewater.com. What follows is a pair of slideshows from the dedicated photographers. Look for more shots from the sharpshooters on Friday, a full event recap by Monday and a closer-look feature on the poker run in the next digital issue of Speed On The Water magazine.

Pete Boden caught many of the boats on their way from Miami to Islamorada’s Postcard Inn Beach Resort and Marina at Holiday Isle.

Yvonne Aleman snapped plenty of pictures while running with her boyfriend, Greg Harris, in his 37 Excess from Active Thunder.
