After riding in a friend’s 29 X-Flight from Advantage Boats, Scott and Lori—a couple from San Juan Capistrano, Calif.—fell in love with the boat and knew they had to have one. So they traded in their older sportboat and ordered one of the Lake Havasu City, Ariz., company’s 29-foot stepped V-bottoms, which feature a unique interior configuration incorporating the practicality and roominess of a deckboat with the style of a sportboat.
Including the custom trailer and gelcoat graphics, the 29-footer cost a reasonable $145,000.
With plans to mainly use the 29 X-Flight on the Parker Strip (not far from Lake Havasu), the couple took delivery of the boat, which is powered by a Mercury Racing 565 engine, on Tuesday. Customized with an upgraded sound system, IMCO Marine full-hydraulic steering and Livorsi Marine DTS Controls and SmartCraft-enabled gauges, the walk-through version of the boat includes seating for up to 10 people.
The latest 29 X-Flight from Advantage was ordered with the walk-through-style deck.
Bob Sepulveda, director of sales and marketing for Advantage Boats, said the 29-footer tops out in the mid-70-mph range with the 565-hp power plant. He added that the boat—with the custom trailer and the bold orange and gray gelcoat graphics—sold for $145,000.
