Phantom Productions, the new team behind one of the country’s top poker runs—the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.—announced today that it is making a couple of changes to Desert Storm’s sister event in October, the former Monster Bash Poker Run.

Christina Crane and her boyfriend, Jimmy Nichols, the son of Jim Nichols of Lake Racer LLC, the longtime producer of both events, said in a press release that some small but detailed changes are being made to improve the mid-October (Oct. 12-14) event that is going to be held at the Nautical Beachfront Resort. First of all, the event is now called the Monster Storm Poker Run, keeping with its Halloween-themed poker run and emphasizing its association with Desert Storm.
Second, Crane said Phantom Productions is going to be teaming up with Dave Johnson and the team at River Dave’s Place, which is hosting its 10th anniversary RDP Regatta the same weekend.
“Together we will combine resources to offer participants an opportunity to play in both events and create an all-around epic weekend,” said Crane, who plans to announce more details about Monster Storm and Desert Storm on the Storm Poker Runs social media pages and website. She added that the registration form is available for download at www.StormPokerRun.com.
“Our father created an epic event that people from around the nation recognize and want to be a part of,” Jimmy Nichols said. “Our plan is to carry on his legacy, update the atmosphere and bring back the participant/sponsor-centered vibe. We want to support our sponsors, the marine industry and our boating family.”
