1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run Outlines Options For Paid Participants In Event Of Cancellation

Set for July 16-18 in Clayton, N.Y., the fourth annual 1,000 Islands Poker Run is still accepting registrations. But with the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 mandates, the event’s organizers are “monitoring the situation very closely” and plan to decide in the next month whether the run will go forward.

“As of today, the Poker Run is still on,” wrote Alexandra Buduson, a member of the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run organizing committee, in an email from the organization. “In the next month, as we get closer to the date the board will decide whether we will have the run or not based on federal and state executive orders.”

If the poker run is cancelled, registered participants will have three options:

• Receive full refund.
• Donate registration fees to the event’s charities.
• Receive full credit toward registration for the 2021 event.

“We hope to see everyone in July,” wrote Buduson. “Be well and stay safe.
