With registration open just one month, the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run, which is heading into its second year, is already approaching capacity. According to Jeff Morgan, one of the organizers of the Clayton, N.Y., event set for July 21, registration currently stands at 102 boats with an array of brands from Active Thunder to Wright Performance represented.

So far, the brands leaders for the event are Fountain Powerboats and Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats—each with 18 entries.
“Dan Kleitz at Outerlimits told me this is ‘the most Outerlimits at one event I can remember since the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout weekend, and that was 24 boats,’” said Morgan. “Meanwhile, the ‘Fountain Nation’ is as strong as ever in the Northeast.
“We’re still looking for a few more event sponsors,” he added.
Morgan said the participants are coming from all over the country—from as close as Clayton and as far as Seattle.
“We’re excited about our second-year event,” he said. “And the rest of the organizers and I want to thank all the participants for signing up.”
